Everyone has been ghosted by an IOS Seller at the finish line. Its not your fault. It happens. I wanted to write a Craigslist Missed Connection style post to the most recent IOS seller that ghosted me. It is below. Have a great weekend folks. We will buy more IOS next week if they let us. This story began when we were originally connected to each other by a guy in New York who neither of us had met before. In an email, he sent me the size of your industrial land and the APN number and all he asked for was a 6% fee. After I went to the county website, I then contacted my third party network admin who enabled my JavaScript plugin to run, allowing the local GIS parcel data mapper to load in my Internet Explorer window, which the county had advised me to use for optimal performance. It was then I found your property address, and it sure was a beauty, so 6% seemed fair and I obliged.He arranged for you and I to meet at the nearby Love’s Travel Stop. I asked how I will know its him, and he answered, “Look for his blue truck”. You rolled up thirty minutes passed the agreed upon time in your Lifted F250 and I waved while sheepishly zipping up my navy-blue Lulu Lemon vest. I kicked my Italian leather driving loafers off on the side of your rocker panel and hopped in to drive over to your property, which was not far. Once we got out to walk the site, I saw you had a T shirt on that read “Put the hammer down,” which I told you I thought was cool, but I was lying. As we strolled the yard, I listened intently as you kept going on about the upcoming Solar Eclipse and how you were going to take the millions of dollars from the sale and finally buy that place in Panama City Beach. You pointed to a sign near the wooded area of the right- of-way adjacent to the yard that read “No Dumping”. We both laughed. After the tour we sat in your office talking about the deal and a path forward. You told me you do not like big fancy contracts and said, “my word is my bond”. You polished off a couple more Marlboro reds and we shook hands in agreement. Later that night in my hotel room, after my third time using my Navage to wash the smell of cigs from my nasal cavities, I fired up the email and sent you a Florida Standard Purchase contract with a short addendum. I told our attorneys it was ok because your word was stronger than oak. Our mutual attorneys chatted for a few weeks, and we got close and then…nothing. You stopped emailing and texting. Your attorney will not call me back. Is there another buyer? We shook hands though… I can still smell the Marlboros. If you are out there reading this. $180,000,000 to build…..900 parking spots in Florida!! Nobody sets money on fire like the government while trying to pass it off as good news. Alterra has 5.5 acres of paved trucking parking in Medley, FL. We can fit anywhere from 35-40 trucks per acre at a cost of $500 per month per truck.
